Enduro Standard Equipment Enclosure

THE NEED

The Canal Road Water Treatment Plant in Somerset, New Jersey, required a fiberglass enclosure to house dissolved ozone monitors and sample pumps on top of the water treatment basins at their water treatment facility. The shelters needed to meet the specific requirements to ensure fire safety, durability, HVAC system requirements per the 2018 International Mechanical Code, ventilation control, and lighting and electrical system requirements. Additionally, the treatment plant desired to obtain a vendor that regularly produces high-quality fiberglass structures, has been doing so for over ten years, and has installations in successful operation. Virtual Polymer Compounds, LLC (VPC Fiberglass) was the vendor chosen for the project.

VPC SOLUTION

VPC Fiberglass Engineers assisted the New Jersey project team in honing their requirements to appropriately size HVAC and ventilation equipment.

Each fiberglass enclosure was outfitted with the required electrical and ventilation equipment (openings for louvers, vents, exhaust fans, intake vents with insect screens, etc.) A self-extinguishing specialty resin formulation was used to ensure compliance with fire building requirements. Additionally, an ultra-protective UV gel coat was used to ensure long-lasting durability and maintained appearance over the lifetime of the shelter. As a result, VPC Fiberglass was able to meet the project specifications and requirements and delivered twenty-six Custom Enduro Shelters on time and on budget. The engineering team worked closely with the installation team to ensure these single-piece shelters were installed and that any additional alterations during in-field installation were performed.
